Wet electrostatic precipitator (WESP)
A wet electrostatic precipitator is a gas purification device. It uses a strong electric field to remove aerosols, dust, and solid or liquid particles from gas via three processes: particle charging, collection, and ash cleaning.
When high-voltage DC is applied to the electrode system, a strong electric field ionizes the surrounding gas and generates abundant electrons and ions. As dust-laden flue gas and water mist pass through the field, dust and fine droplets get charged quickly, then migrate to electrodes of opposite polarity under electric force and deposit on the surfaces.
