Application

LY1-B60 surge protective device(SPD) is suitable for 380V AC 50/60HZ TN-S, TN-C-S, TT, IT etc. power supply systems. It is normally installed on the joint of LPZ1 or LPZ2 and LPZ3, designed accordingly to IEC61643-1, GB18802.1 standard. It features standard 35mm din rail installation. There is a failure release mounted on the module of the surge protective device. When the SPD fails due to overheating or over-current, the failure release will help the electric device separate from the power supply system and give the indication signal (Green means normal, Red means fault).

Features
  • Module design: Easy to install, and replace the module without needing to power off.
  • Inside protection: Equipped with over-current, over-heat, and temperature control open circuit protection.
  • Fast response: Features fast response time and low residual voltage.
  • Visual indication: Color window indicates working condition (green means normal, red means fault).
  • High endurance: Maximum discharge current can endure 60KA (8/20µs).
Installation Position

LY1-B60 is Class B lightning protection degree, installed on the joint of LPZ0A or LPZ0B and LPZ1 zone, usually installed in low voltage main power distribution boxes connected to the incoming end of buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions
What systems is the LY1-B60 SPD compatible with?
The LY1-B60 surge protective device is suitable for 380V AC 50/60HZ systems, including TN-S, TN-C-S, TT, IT, and other power supply configurations.
Where should this surge protector be installed?
As a Class B lightning protection degree unit, it is installed on the joint of LPZ0A or LPZ0B and LPZ1 zones. Typically, this translates to the low voltage main power distribution box connected to the incoming end of the building.
How does the status indicator window work?
The visible window color displays the module's condition. A Green window indicates normal status, while a Red window means a fault has occurred and the module needs replacing.
Can the protection modules be replaced hot?
Yes, the device's convenient module design permits module updates and swaps quickly without requiring the power supply to be turned off.
What safety fail-safes are built inside?
The unit has built-in thermal protection, over-current safeguards, and temperature control open circuits. If the unit fails due to excessive heat or current overload, the failure release disconnects the SPD to protect the overall electrical system.
What are the wire size and installation requirements?
It requires standard 35mm Din Rail mounting. The minimum sectional area of the incoming line L/N is 4mm², and the PE ground wire requires a minimum of 6mm².
